Terms of Use

What to expect when you use flocc

flocc is in alpha — it is not a fully functioning app yet.

flocc is an early-stage product under active development. Many features are incomplete, some things may break or behave unexpectedly, and the app is not yet ready for high-stakes events or critical coordination. By using flocc — including installing it to your home screen — you accept that it may not be stable, and that features may change or be removed without notice. We genuinely appreciate your patience and feedback during this phase.

Who these terms apply to

These Terms of Use apply to anyone who accesses or uses flocc — whether as a host (someone with an account who creates events) or as a guest (someone who views an event page or submits an RSVP). Using flocc means you agree to these terms.

What flocc is (and isn't yet)

flocc is a web-based tool for creating simple event pages, collecting RSVPs, and coordinating times with the people you've invited. It is intended for personal and small-group social use — not for commercial events, large-scale marketing, or ticket sales.

Because we're in alpha, some things that look like features may not work fully, and some features described in the UI may be incomplete. Known limitations during this alpha period:

  • Email notifications to guests are not sent automatically — hosts manage invitations through their own email or messaging apps.
  • There is no payment processing, ticketing, or attendee capacity management.
  • The app does not yet support recurring events.
  • Some flows may require manual steps or have rough edges that will be smoothed out in later versions.

Installing flocc to your home screen

flocc can be added to your iPhone or Android home screen as a lightweight app (a Progressive Web App). By installing it, you agree to the following:

  • The installed app is the same flocc website — it is not a separately reviewed app from the App Store or Google Play. It runs in your browser's engine and connects to flocc's servers over HTTPS.
  • Because flocc is in alpha, the installed version may break or require re-installation if we make significant updates. We'll try to avoid disruption but cannot guarantee continuity during the alpha period.
  • No personal data is stored on your device by the installed app — only static assets (icons and stylesheets) are cached locally. All your event data lives on flocc's servers.
  • You can remove the app from your home screen at any time. This does not delete your flocc account or any event data.

Event responsibility

flocc helps with planning, but we are not the organizer of any event created through the platform.

  • Hosts are fully responsible for their gatherings — including safety, communication, logistics, and any agreements made with guests.
  • Guests participate at their own discretion. flocc has no visibility into what happens at events and assumes no liability for anything that occurs at or in connection with an event.
  • flocc is not responsible for injuries, property damage, cancellations, or disputes that arise between hosts and guests.

Your content and intellectual property

  • You retain ownership of any content you create or upload — event details, descriptions, guest messages, photos, and anything else you add to the platform.
  • By posting content on flocc, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and use that content within the platform for the purpose of operating the service for you and your guests.
  • flocc does not claim ownership of your content. We will never sell it or use it for advertising.
  • We may use anonymized, aggregated usage patterns (never personal content) to understand how the product is being used and improve it.

Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. Do not share your password.
  • You must provide an accurate email address. We use it only for account access and password resets.
  • Accounts are personal — one person, one account.
  • During alpha, account registration is open to anyone. This may change as the product evolves.

Content you create

  • You own the content you create (event details, descriptions, images). By posting it, you give flocc permission to store and display it to the people you share your event link with.
  • Don't post content that is illegal, harmful, deceptive, or that violates someone else's rights.
  • Don't use flocc for spam, automated bulk invitations, or any activity that could harm other users or the service.
  • Profile photos and cover images you upload should be images you have the right to use.

Guest RSVPs

  • Guests who submit an RSVP provide their name, email, and response. This information is shared with the host of that event and is used only to manage that event's guest list.
  • Guests are responsible for the accuracy of the information they submit.
  • If a guest wants their RSVP data removed, they can contact the host or reach us at admin@floccwithfriends.com.

What we don't promise during alpha

Because flocc is in alpha, we want to be especially upfront:

  • We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times or without interruption.
  • We may update, change, or remove features — including from the installed PWA — without prior notice.
  • We may shut down the alpha at any time — we'll do our best to give advance notice if so.
  • We are not liable for loss of data, missed events, or any other indirect consequences of the service being unavailable or behaving unexpectedly during alpha.
  • The app is not suitable for events where failure or data loss would have serious consequences.

Suspension and termination

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or use the service in ways that harm others. We'll aim to be fair and reach out first if something seems unintentional.

Privacy

How we collect and use personal data is covered in our Privacy Policy. These Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy together describe your relationship with flocc.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date below when we do. Continued use of flocc after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Last updated: May 2026

flocc is currently in private alpha. Features, workflows, and policies may evolve as we improve the product experience. Because flocc is currently in alpha, we recommend hosts confirm important gathering details directly with guests when needed.
